The Blades
In the year 2004, the Old Eds Rowing Club, a powerhouse in South African rowing at that time, was in search of a new location for its boat club, shed, and equipment. Four adventurous Eds members, who were also national oarsmen, including the first South African Olympic rowing medallist, embarked on a quest to find suitable land on the banks of their cherished rowing water – Roodeplaat Dam.
