Near the Northgate Dome in the north of Johannesburg, is a pristine 55ha park with rolling walks around a dam and indigenous bushveld. This picturesque park is a delightful surprise and a secret treasure about which many Johannesburgers are unaware. The park is beautiful, a space in which people enjoy walking their dogs and a great place to spot birds, such as the Ovambo sparrow hawk, one of several types of sparrow hawk believed to be breeding in the park.
The park is completely fenced with a guard at the gate. There is an entrance fee.
Getting there: Off Malibongwe Drive to Olievenhout Avenue, Maple Road to the entrance.
