“I have always loved animals, but over the last 10 years my focus and passion has been cats and their quirks. I decided to open the cattery to fulfil the dream I had for a number of years. When I looked at the pros and cons of indoor or outdoor or both, I decided that indoor cages were better for elements like thunder storms and fireworks, and it is more efficient to have underfloor heating indoors during winter.

I built a small number of cages to ensure that I can manage the cleaning of the cages and litter boxes, and to monitor food and water intake. I can see instantly if anyone is not eating or drinking, or there are any stool or urinary problems. The cattery is in the same building, but completely separate, from Eastern Veterinary Hospital so I have access to a vet at any time it is required.”
