Mika - Clay's Pet
As we all know a fur baby becomes apart of the family. They bring us so much joy and laughter memories that will forever be with us. As i recently lost a fur baby i had no plans of adopting again anytime soon. I found joy in helping rescue groups but knew i wasn't in a place to adopt any time soon. The Day i met MIKA I live a minute away from the mall as i was walking through the parking area i noticed a little tiny black figure. At first glance it looked like a rat charging in my direction oh my I turned around about to scream and run i realised i am in public and will look like a crazy lady to all these people. I tried to compose myself and not look silly as the parking lot was busy i started to walk fast when i turned back to see if the rat still was charging in my direction i realised the black figure stopped under a bakkie tyre. As i shouted at the driver reversing that he is about to go over a rat i realised its not a rat but a 4/6 week old kitten. Oh my god at that point i didn't even think how crazy i look to the public i ran towards the bakkie screaming there's a kitty behind your back tyre. Poor guy i wonder what went through his mind at that moment looking at me shouting and running towards him. THANKFULLY HE DIDN'T TRY TO DRIVE AWAY FROM "THE CRAZY LADY". The guy was kind enough to help me get hold of the kitty. The Sweet angel was in a bad condition and in a dangerous area i knew i had to take her home with me. It was a weekend and late afternoon so no local vets was opened. I tried reaching out to rescue groups and they were all full. I managed to get hold of my vet and set an appointment for the following Monday. As usual they ask the description and age of the kitty when setting up appointment i told them she is a black kitten around 6 weeks old. I knew i had to get her cleaned up as im washing her i noticed black grease is dripping down off her body. Poor girl was already stressed but it took 3 baths to remove all the dirt and grease ( yes in one day 3 baths ) i didn't want her ingesting the grease as she was clearly sick. It turned out that her real colour was white and tan no where near black. Monday came and it was time to leave i went looking for her and found her rolling all over coconut oil that my mum left opened in the kitchen. Sweet girl thought it will be a good idea to knock it over and play in it. I tried my best to clean her but it wasn't possible and i was getting late for the appointment already. When i reached i had a little wait for my turn i placed kitty on the chair and went to get her food and supplies. As i was just few steps away i noticed the receptionist talking to her. Sweet angel was in a carrier so it wasn't a clear view of her that the receptionist got. I was still busy picking her food when the vet came out to fetch us. The receptionist handed the carrier over to the vet and says oh yes i think its a rabbit or porcupine here for a check up. Oh my god i was dying inside because i totally forgot this little rascal had coconut oil all over her fur and i also forgot to tell them that she is in fact not black in colour but white and tan. As the vet takes her out of the carrier im yelling nooo no no she is not a porcupine but a kitten who thought its a good idea to roll into coconut oil few minutes before leaving for her appointment. Oh boy oh boy i felt they was judging me big time until the vet and staff laughed and said you made my day little kitty thats hilarious. Mika is known by all as the porcupine kitty and yes it was a foster fail. While all the staff and vet laughed at my sweet angel i think she felt embarrassed she climbed into my arms from the table and placed her little head on my chest. Oh my that was it i fell deeply inlove with this little PORCUPINE.I knew she was an angel and blessing that brought a smile not only to the vet and staff but brought a smile and joy to my heart. Its always difficult after a loss and no fur baby will replace the one's in heaven but the angels on earth will always try to remind us the reason to adopt and help rescue groups these angel's are so worth it even when we think we not ready to have another fur baby some how they will just appear when the time is right . I believe we need them equally as they need us. I believe Mika really wishes her fur was black, months later we couldn't find her finally i heard a little voice. As i looked around i realised she was inside the car bonnet, again covered in grease. Mika till today keeps us on our toes and we wouldn't have it any other way. Mika will forever be remembered as A RAT , PORCUPINE & RABBIT " a kitty with a mistaken identity " by us all.

Prince & chloe - Lucille 's Pet
Its Christmas eve and my sister called us saying she wants to introduce her boyfriend and his family to us so we decided to have them over for dinner. Its dinner time and we all are chatting away getting to know each other we suddenly notice my jack Russell's are running around wrestling and playing tug a war other trying to take an item from each other. We all was smiling watching them play as i realised that the item they was tug a waring was my mums underwear. I was mortified as i didn't know what to do or how to react. my sister's boyfriends family looked away trying to be polite. After knowing what it was i tried getting the underwear from them when they found it way more fun to play Chase. As i kept trying to catch them looking like a clown my darling Prince thought it will be a great idea to jump on the dinner table proud of himself winning the tug of war. We all tried our best to stay composed but couldn't any longer we burst out laughing. A memory forever we will remember and bring us laughter though he is in rainbow heaven. It ended well for my sister happily married with 2 beautiful babies.

HEAVEN - Clayton 's Pet
My mum and dad are spiritual people so they used to keep offerings such as fruits, milk, water etc for their loved ones who passed on every time they offered they noticed the milk and water wasn't full anymore and a fruit is always missing. At first they didn't think much of it as time went on it kept happening, fruits will continue to miss as well as the milk and water this went on for a year. My parents was all excited and believed it was a spiritual awakening and their departed loved ones was giving them signs from heaven. As time past on my dad started noticing his clothing items he layed out for work would miss. Again at first didn't think much of it as it continued to happen he finally asked if it was us. My parents being so excited about their supernatural experience with their offerings went from it being a maricle to our house is haunted. I have a beautiful cat calm, relaxed but the most fussy eater ever hated most things offered to her. She is an angel never once jumped onto the table when anyone eats nor did she ever jump when meat was out on the kitchen counter. As we all was on edge about our home so called being haunted we was we was alot more aware of our surroundings. HEAVEN was never around when things happened so we thought until one day i caught her red handed carrying a sock into her large igloo that she sleeps in. I followed her and checked her igloo to find many random clothing items in the igloo. Then we decided to place the offerings as usual but this time spy on her with a device. HEAVEN soon as she sees the coast is clear went over and drank the milk and water. As for the fruits she carried it outside and rolled it down our driveway and run after it playfully. After finally figuring out the ghost with great relief but my parents disappointed it wasn't actually a sign from their deceased loved ones. Since HEAVEN loved to be sneaky and thinks she gets away with it we just pretend we dnt know its her as it brings her so much joy through her playfulness when doing her crimes.

Pinky - Belinda's Pet
This is a bit of an interesting story, not sure if you've heard one like this before. It's a bit of a long one, but here goes...This is my furbaby, Pinky. We don't own a pool, so I would often go swim by my sister and take Pinky with me. My sister lives about 10 minutes from me. Pinky is absolutely terrified of water. That is how I know her over the years. She will never go near or in the pool by herself. The only time she will go in the pool, is if I hold her and take her in. She knows that mommy won't ever scare her, and she knows the routine, that I will hold her close to me in the pool. She is very content when I hold her in the pool, and then she will fall sleep with her head on me whilst I hold her. I make no sudden movements in the pool. Just quiet, calmness. It's a very special moment that we often bond over and share between us. Anyway, when my dad was still alive, we walked Pinky and our other dog's around the Century City residential area. But, when it came to this bridge, I untied Pinky so she could be free in that area, as I know she will stay close to me, as there was water under the bridge. Under this bridge, there was a lake or river or whatever you want to call it. And, as I was standing there, the next thing Pinky jumped OFF the bridge into the river. 🙈 Oh my hat, I didn't have time to think, I immediately threw my shoes off and jumped in after her into the snake infested water. 😬 It wasn't a high bridge, therefore my dad managed to reach down and pull her up, just before I got to her. I'm quite a big girl, and not strong at all, so I really battled to pull myself back up onto the bridge. I was exhausted and used all the strength that I had in me, but eventually after a few failed attempts, I managed to climb back onto the bridge. I was so scared at the time in the water, because I was barefoot and I didn't know what I was also standing on. For those that know me, I am the biggest scardie cat of spiders, snakes, or any creepy crawlies etc. I have like a full on phobia of that. And when I jumped off the bridge, I saw really big cobwebs and spiders on the bridge. When I managed to climb back on the bridge, Pinky and I were soaking wet. There was a lot of flats that surrounded the lake and bridge, so I'm sure that some people must have seen what happened. My dad, our other dogs, and Pinky and I had to walk all the way back to our car. And I can only imagine what those people who didn't see what happened to Pinky and I must have thought of us walking back soaking wet, looking like drenched, drain rats, with seaweed still attached to both of us. I think that Pinky and I must have looked hilarious together. 🤣 I am convinced that something in Pinky's peanut 🥜 brain 🧠 must have triggered her when she saw the water in the river. Pinky is scared of most things in life, but completely unafraid when mommy is around. She must have thought back to all the times that I held her in the pool and wanted to relive the wonderful moments we often had. Pinky and I are together all the time, and she trusts me 100%. She knows that whatever she does, mommy will always be there to save her, no matter what, and no matter the situation she finds herself in. My baby, as far as possible, and as long as I am around and alive, I will always try to be your hero. Now and forever, and no matter the circumstance. ❤ I am unemployed and also a cancer survivor, and in pain most of the time. I spend most of my time on social media helping animal shelters where I can, whether sharing their posts in the hope of donations, and educating people about the importance of steralization, inoculations etc etc etc, and I also try to assist in reuniting people with their missing pets on social media. I am well known in animal rescue (on social media). I also follow many rescue organizations and spca's around the country. In my healthier days (a few years ago), my mom and I would often drive around in search of neighbours missing pets the minute we heard about them getting out of their property. We were well known in the neighbourhood, and we often reunited owners and their missing pets. We since moved 2 years ago, and it was the greatest honour and blessing to be able to assist them. My family and I also took on many dogs over the years that desperately needed homes, and we ourselves got them steralized, inoculated, dewormed and microchipped. We also adopted from rescue organizations too. Four of them are still alive, living indoors, (and they are most welcome on our beds, or anywhere they want to sleep), and are living their best life. I got Pinky when she was about 3 weeks old, she is now 11 years old. We are absolutely obsessed with each other, and we literally stalk each other all day. It's really funny how Pinky and I both watch each other all the time. 👀 We follow each other around the house. Where she goes, I go. Where I go, she goes. 🤣 My whole family and I are absolute HUGE animal lovers and it would be truly amazing if my family and I won this amazing competition. It would really uplift my spirits and bring my family and I such great joy to be able to treat our furbabies with this incredible voucher. Thank you so much for reading my story. And even if you decide not to choose us as the winner, I just want to say that it is an incredibly kind thing what you're doing and giving away, to spoil animals. And I know without a doubt that you will make somebody's doggies out there incredibly happy. So thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul what you're doing. You're truly amazing! ❤

I spent all afternoon baking donut muffins and was very proud, we also baked lemon meringue. We left in on the kitchen counter to cool. I left and came back 1 hr later to find him eating the food. Out of the 12 muffins there were only 7 left and he was busy with the lemon meringue. When he saw me he grabbed the tin and ran! He was perfectly fine after eating all that too, he had no tummy troubles etc....

WHO NEEDS MONEY IF IT TASTES SO GOOD Yvanka kind of likes food and sniffs around for everything. Master cobweb finder also 🕸 My daughter just withdrew R2000 from FNB to buy textbooks. BUT she just put it in her denims jacket pocket and left the jacket on her bed. When time came for her to leave...she couldnt find the money. 🙈 We searched everywhere and couldnt find it.. but wait...what is lying outside....looks like pieces of paper...did they get hold of the newspaper... No..... it was the money shredded into a thousand pieces and Yvanka rolling in it. 🙈 I phoned the bank and ask them.what we need to do...we must tape it and the serial number of the note MUST BE VISIBLE. Thus 5 hours later and a lot of cellotape, we could "RESCUE" R1800, but the rest was an expensive dinner for her 🤣 Never a dull moment with our doggies.

Sibby - Sarisha's Pet
Sibby is hands down the most amazing cat I’ve had for the past 9 years. When she was a kitten, she used to get into all kinds of mischief. One day, we spent the entire day searching high and low for her, growing more and more worried as the hours passed. Just when we were about to lose hope, my brother called us 8 hours later with a surprising update. Turns out, Sibby had been fast asleep in the back seat of his car the whole time! She had enjoyed a nice, long drive to Johannesburg without a care in the world, completely snoozing the entire ride. Classic Sibby—always off on her own little adventures, even when we’re looking for her!

Lilly - Stacey's Pet
Lilly is such a little jokester! We renovated our back yard about two years ago. Part of the job was to cement a section to create a pathway. We did our absolute best to prevent Lilly from walking on the cement until it dried. While watching a Sunday afternoon movie, we let Lilly outside to use the bathroom. Usually she would whine at our gate to let us know that she's done but somehow it had been about 20min and not a peep. I rushed off to see if she's okay and lo and behold! Lilly was having a dance party all over the cement 😂. We now have a walkway filled with paw prints and have grown to love it. It will always be our Lilly inspired walkway. ❤

We would love for him to experience everything, and we decided to take him swimming, to famililarise himself with our pool - I jokingly handed him a towel, and told him he has to bring his own towel to the pool, much to our surprise he grabbed it, and followed promptly (we had the best laugh!)

One day, Lucy decided she was the queen of the house. She found a fancy pillow on the couch, dragged it to the middle of the living room, and plopped herself down like royalty. i walked in and said, “Lucy, that’s not your pillow.” She gave me the look—you know, the one that says, “Excuse me, peasant?”—and scooted an inch deeper into her throne. Then, in the ultimate act of defiance, she let out the world’s biggest yawn, stretched dramatically, and promptly fell off the pillow with a thud. Dignity? Gone. But did she get up? Nope. She just stayed there, owning the moment, because, obviously, she meant to do that.

One day, I noticed that my socks kept disappearing. At first, I blamed the washing machine, but then I started finding them in the strangest places—under the couch, in my shoes, even in my pet’s bed! After some detective work, I finally caught the culprit: my mischievous dog Every time I turned my back, my pet would sneak into the laundry basket, grab a sock, and proudly parade around the house like it was a treasure. One day, I walked into the living room to find a pile of socks neatly stacked like a dragon’s hoard, with my pet sitting on top like a proud king! From that day on, I started calling my furry friend “The Sock Bandit.”

His hobbies include, licking himself, sleeping so peacefully that he gives him mom a mini heart attack because he doesn't wake up at first even if she shakes him, annoying his sister, stealing his sister's food and stealing his sister's spot on mom's lap. Other than being extremely adorable Moose is not smart, but we love him anyway. He is the best cuddle buddy and most annoying alarm clock, but then again how dare we be late for breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, and dinner, snack.

They say its all in the name and Lucipurr lives up to her name. I swear Lucipurr and Shnoopy should be part of the WWE. They are tag team pawtners. They decide when breakfast should be served and when everyone should get their lunch and supper. Not only do they rule the coop, they also get up to mischief together. I always buy a bag of 20/25kg cat litter. They love scratching and digging so I usually find litter on the floor. One day I came up with an idea and hid the litter in a kitchen cupboard below the sink there's absolutely no way they will get to it I thought. My plan worked and I never had to sweep up litter again. That is until one night I woke up to a commotion in the kitchen I thought someone was trying to break in I got up walked down the passage and felt cat litter on my feet, I turned on the lights and there they were rolling in the cat litter on the kitchen floor all five of my cats enjoying themselves covered in dust! dusty paw prints all over the counters and tables. Lucipurr and Shnoopy dragged the rest of the litter with the bag through the passage. I spent early hours of the morning cleaning up. It's the same night I found out that Lucipurr can open cupboard doors. Moral of the story you can never outsmart a cat especially two gingers.

Milo - Cecilia's Pet
Let me tell you the tale of a sausage dog who takes his chaperone duties way too seriously. Picture this: we're out at the dam, fishing and enjoying the day, and of course, we couldn't forget to bring along Milo – our trusty swimming, water obsessed, fisherman’s friend, sausage dog. He's living his best life, probably thinking he's the King of the Dam, as usual. Now, our teenage daughters are swimming, having a good time, when – surprise, surprise – some local boys decide to join in. Enter Milo, the self-appointed bodyguard, who feels it’s his sworn duty to keep an eye on the new recruits. But the wind is blowing like a mini hurricane, and Milo, being the genius he is, realizes he needs to go undercover. So, what does he do? He goes into full stealth mode. He takes a few steps away from the action, wades into the water, activates his propeller tail (which, by the way, is the most adorable thing ever), and starts casually floating by. "Oh, hey guys, nothing to see here, just a dog... doing dog things." He floats past the swimmers, gets out, shakes himself off like nothing happened, then repeats the whole process multiple times. It was so funny that we completely forgot we were supposed to be fishing. So, lesson learned: Never doubt Milo's ability to protect the family and come up with a plan. He’s got his tail-powered stealth moves down to a science. 😁🐾

I don’t know who said Skye-Jojo is not a diva female version of a hustler, I swear she’s an reincarnation of one of my boujee ancestors because did she not fight back with all her teefs when I called her out on attempting several times to steal my favourite curly wig? So there was this one time I was busy jotting down minutes during a status meeting, she literally went to my wig and tried to run away with it. The worse thing was that my mic was still on and everyone would hear me fighting for my life trying to save my wig from a diva that probably wanted to go walk a show off. When I ran after her she did that Play time thing they do when you’re serious about getting them into order, she ran with her tongue out, she did the happy run and wagging her tail with my wig in her mouth. I ran after her with my old hairstyle because she was carrying my new one in her mouth . When I finally caught her, she licked my face and gave me a paw mind you I didn’t even ask for all of these “sorry mama” gestures , I guess she knew that she was guilty. I fell for it because she’s mama baby oh my Shaylaaa Sky-Jojokie. I still have her case number of attempted theft though it’s CUTESKYE1206.

I bought them a catnip ball, the one you stick against the wall...after sticking it to the wall, Izzy was first at it, next thing you know Fudge comes along, got a sniff of the catnip and started pouncing on Izzy with her paw almost to say 'okay my turn now, get away' lol...needless to say, Fudge never gave Izzy a chance again!

Rocky Naidoo - Verosha 's Pet
Rocky had always possessed a deep affection for food. I was well aware of the importance of not leaving food unattended, yet one evening, I made a significant error by placing a large plate of spaghetti on the kitchen table. The moment I exited the room, Rocky seized his chance. He deftly positioned his front paws on the table, extended his neck, and snatched a long strand of spaghetti. However, just as he began to slurp it up, the entire plate toppled off the table! In an instant, spaghetti cascaded down like confetti, enveloping Rocky from head to tail in Alfredo sauce. Upon hearing the crash, I hurried back into the room, only to discover Rocky amidst the chaos, appearing both guilty and overjoyed, his tail wagging with unrestrained happiness. Rather than reprimanding him, I erupted into laughter. Realizing he was not in trouble, Rocky joyfully wagged his tail and began licking the sauce off his nose. From that moment forward, Rocky earned the nickname "Spaghetti Dog," a title he embraced with great pride.

Other than being extremely adorable Moose is not smart, but we love him anyway.

I love playing with my toys, I love going for walks and used to go the beach and swim like a mermaid but now I play catch, eat my treats, roll in smelly stuff and have my face and paws washed before bed, because mom's bed is the best. But don't you dare try wiping my bum because then I think its game on, I will rip that cloth and shred it. And don't even think about cutting my nails, oh my woof, I will scratch you like a cat and then cry like a baby.

Tinkerbell - Claudine's Pet
Tinkerbell has a huge heart and is usually scared of nothing. One day Tinkerbell goes out as usual to go scratch out all my plants and I follow her to scold as usual... She goes into the bedding and next minute she yelps and races past me, and I also see something else pass in a flash.. I run after her but she's making a dart for it, yelping all the way. Eventually I catch up to her on the couch and I see a small mouse on the floor. Tinkerbell is shivering and crying like a baby, all over a small mouse. She nearly caused a double heart attack

Riley and Stompie - Nthabiseng Raditsela 's Pet
I've had Riley for 9 years now, she came to us when she was a month old. 3 years ago I added another beautiful furry friend to our family Stompie, funny part is Riley was not welcoming at all she was very fussy and so stressed. One day we were sitting watching TV and Stompie ran up to me on the couch and my poor Riley just left my side and went to my daughter's bedroom and hid under her bed for the whole day and night, it was so funny to witness.

Taylor - Michelle 's Pet
It started with one missing blanket. Then another. Soon, every couch and bed was bare. The culprit? Taylor, my oversized, four-legged menace, proudly trotting outside with yet another stolen blanket. Was she building a fort? Starting a secret blanket society? Who knew. All I knew was that no blanket was safe—and Taylor was having the time of her life

Fudge and Izzy - Lauren 's Pet
Fudge is the younger one, our babycat, even though she's a year old and izzy is the queen of the household.

Lucipurr - Jessica's Pet
Lucy - Siven 's Pet
Skye-Jojo - Thembekile's Pet
