Carnivore Focused
\nCats and dogs are carnivores; Weruva was formulated with this in mind. Calories for pets and people come from three places: protein, fat, and carbohydrates. The calories from meat are comprised of protein and fat, with minimal, if any, calories coming from carbohydrates. In that regard, cats and dogs need protein and fat, whereas cats and dogs do not need carbohydrates.<\/p>\n
For cats and dogs, carbohydrates are not metabolically necessary and should be kept to a minimum. Cats are \u201cobligate carnivores\u201d, which means they are obligated to and must eat meat to survive. Dogs are also carnivores, but some dogs may be able to adapt to an omnivorous diet, meaning some dogs can handle carbohydrates, but others cannot. All Weruva foods are formulated with the carnivore in mind!<\/p>\n
Real Ingredients You Can See
\nWe DON’T blend our ingredients into machine-shaped chunks or unidentifiable loaves. Instead, we use the highest quality, boneless, skinless cuts of meat and flaked fish loins. Our philosophy is “what you see is what you get” \u2013 we want you to see and identify the quality of ingredients that we list on the ingredient statement.<\/p>\n
As for our pat\u00e9 products, we laboured in the kitchen for months to find the perfect recipe for a pat\u00e9 that meets our standards. We use the same ingredients in our shredded and flaked cans, like boneless, skinless chicken breast, and gently pur\u00e9e them into a hydrating pat\u00e9.
